IGP David Asante-Apeatu When the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander declared war on land guards there were snide smiles on our faces. We thought it was a déjà-vu affair many of his previous predecessors having served similar notices of intention to fight criminals of which land guards are anyway. Indeed we even said that it is no news when the Police say they are going to fight crime because after all that is their statutory function. If they do not do it who else should? It won’t be fair on our part not to follow developments, if there are, in the area of restoring sanity in land matters in the Greater Accra Region against the backdrop of the declaration by the new regional commander. Here is to announce therefore that since the announcement about a war against land guards and

Ex-President Mahama and Super OD Former President John Mahama has paid what is being described as a surprise visit to veteran Ghanaian actor Super OD on Sunday. The visit follows on the heels of President Akufo-Addo making newspaper headlines last week after hosting popular Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, at the Flagstaff House, the seat of Ghana’s presidency. Mahama announced his visit to Super OD on his Facebook page with photos saying, “I was in Swedru on Sunday to visit my friend, the good old Super OD. He is such a good company always.” The ex-president’s statement created the impression he was in Swedru purposely to visit super OD. On Monday (Nov. 6), Meek Mill was sentenced to two to four years in prison after violating his probation. The violations came in the form of an assault case he caught last winter and a reckless driving case he faced in New York City back in August. Although the Philadelphia rapper had the assault case dropped and was able to take a deal for the reckless driving charges, the judge saw fit to put him in a cell for violating the terms of a probation sentence he got for a 2009 weapons and drugs charge. Predictably, folks from all over the rap game have used social media to show their support for the MMG artist. One of them was JAY-Z, who signed Meek to his Roc Nation management group a while back. According to Hov, who chronicled systemic injustice in his Kalief Browder documentary last
