GYEEDA Rot: Jailed Assibit Fights Back In Appeal Attempt

The Chief Executive Officer of Goodwill International Group, Philip Assibit, will be appealing his 16-year jail term. Former President Rawlings in a chart with President Nana Addo Former President Jerry John Rawlings has said he is unaware of the latest Corruption Perception Index (CPI) indicting the government of Ghana of doing little to fight the canker. Ghana was ranked 81 out of 180 countries in the 2017 CPI released on Wednesday by Transparency International, scoring 40 as against last year’s score of 43 and dropping 11 places in the process. Death has laid its icy hands on Ghanaian dancehall artist Ebony Reigns. Exclusive information reaching Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture And Urban Entertainment News – www.nydjlive.com indicates Ghanaian dancehall artist Ebony is dead. Ebony who was returning from Sunyani after a visit was involved in a car accident and died at the Bechem Government Hospital. Minister Hints Tema Motorway Squatters To Be Chased Out

The Ministry of Roads And Highways has vowed to evict squatters dotted along the along the Accra-Tema Motorway. It said it expects to complete the exercise before April 2018, to pave way for the expansion of the highway. This was the indication given by the sector minister, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, who told Citi News that the move will ensure a quick expansion of the motorway. According to the Minister, the motorway, will be expanded from the current four lanes to six lanes in an expected 30-month long project. “We are going to expand the motorway from the current 4 lanes to 6 lanes. It will take about 30 months because it will be under construction this year. We need to create the right of way and clear everybody for the contractor to carry out this work. [This will be] up to the end of March.

A 32-year-old woman is in the grip of the Kwabenya Police in the Greater Accra Region for allegedly beating her 11-year-old son to death last Saturday. The suspect, Rosina Sam, who owns a confectionery shop at Kwabenya, is said to have been incensed with her son for losing GH¢120. Ace radio presenter Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong (KABA) has been laid to rest at the Osu Cemetery in Accra after a pre-burial ceremony. KABA was laid to rest around midday of Saturday, December 16, 2017, as many family members, colleagues and mourners bid farewell to the late ‘Ekosii Sen’ host. The choir and the men of God from the Gethsemane Methodist Church in Mamprobi led the burial service. This was after hundreds including government officials and traditional leaders thronged the forecourt of the State House to their last respect to the late journalist.
