Renowned producer, Edward Nana Poku Osei, widely known as Hammer, says Swedru-based artiste, Patapaa Amisty deserved the ‘Song of the Year’ award at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. According to Hammer, it was unfair on the side of the VGMA Board to urge fans to vote for nominees in the ‘Song of the Year’ category because he believes it “should be unanimous by the Board and Academy”. Patapaa Hammer indicated that the VGMA Board has compromised “the legitimacy of the awards just for the coins [money] you’ll make from votes”. To make his point, Hammer continued: “No song was bigger than “One Corner” in 2017. Why u dey play with ppls struggle and hustle? The boy chop the thing hands down. Stop playing with ppls hard work and emotions.

Veteran highlife musician Charles Kofi Amankwaa Mann, best known on stage as C. K. Mann, has died. The legendary musician passed away 7 am on Tuesday, March 20 at the Ghapoha Hospital in the Western Region. He was 82 years. His son, Anthony Mann, confirmed the news to Hitz News @ 1 on Hitz FM. C.K. Mann had been battling an unclosed illness for three years and his condition was said to have gotten worse last week. More soon.

Citi FM’s HeritageCaravan Day 4: Patrons tour Mole Park, Laribanga Mosque

On the fourth day of Citi FM’s Heritage Caravan, patrons had the rare opportunity of taking a safari ride and seeing very huge elephants at the Mole National Park in the Northern Region. Patrons saw these elephants right at the time they were feasting on the fresh grass around one of the biggest ponds beneath the Zaina Lodge at the park. Other elephants were also spotted in the pond. One of the highlights at the park was the wonderful ride in the safari vans which gave a good view of antelopes, monkeys, birds and other animals. Patrons who couldn’t hold their excitement, described the moment as thrilling, awesome, fascinating and naturally beautiful. From the Mole National Park, the Heritage Caravan went to the Laribanga Mosque, Northern Region.

Late dancehall artiste Ebony, born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, will be buried on March 24, 2018, at the Osu Cemetery. The burial will be preceded by a funeral service at the forecourt of the State House in Accra on the same day. Arrangements for the funeral and burial of the late music star was made known during a press conference addressed by Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour), President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). The press conference at the International Press Centre in Accra on Friday was attended by some family members of the late musician.
